Named “Culture is Athens”, the new app is available for free on Google Play and the App Store for mobile phones and tablets and gives direct access to the municipality’s rich program of cultural events held in the capital’s center and neighborhoods throughout the year. With information in both English and in Greek, the new app and the municipality’s dedicated website www.cultureisathens.gr present concerts, festivals, dance and music shows, theater prerformances, screenings, exhibitions and educational programs for children and adults. The app and the portal also offer information on the municipality’s cultural venues including museums, libraries, galleries, historic buildings and monuments. “Under the ‘umbrella’ of Culture is Athens, we have created an integrated app and portal that will bring the Greek capital’s residents and visitors closer to our rich, high-quality cultural activities,” Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis said. The Culture is Athens portal is also accessible for people with disabilities.
