Mitsis Hotels Hosts Real Madrid Football Training Camp on Kos

Mitsis Hotels is hosting a summer Football Training Camp for its young guests on the Greek island of Kos in partnership with 14 times UEFA Champions League winner Real Madrid.

Held as part of the Real Madrid Foundation Clinic program, the initiative takes place for the second consecutive year, following the completion of the football camp on Rhodes in 2021. The partnership will offer Mitsis Hotels’ young guests world-class football training delivered directly by the coaches of Real Madrid’s development teams.

“The clinic will offer participants the opportunity to develop their football skills and enhance respect, teamwork and the idea of never giving up, values that are central to the success of Real Madrid for decades”, said Real Madrid champion Emilio Butragueño during the training camp’s opening ceremony on July 11.

Butragueño spoke to the attendees about the value of sport, signed autographs and took photos with his young fans.

The training camp is open to children aged 6 to 17 years old and takes place in Kardamena of Kos for seven weeks, from July 4 to August 19.

Participants include young guests of Mitsis’ five properties on Kos: the Blue Domes Resort & Spa, the Family Village Beach Hotel, the Norida Beach Hotel, the Ramira Beach Hotel and the Summer Palace Beach Hotel.

Training sessions take place three times a day for three different age groups.

According to Mitsis Hotels, the partnership with the Real Madrid Foundation Clinic contributes to the promotion of Kos as an international sports destination.

“We are continuously enriching the recreation program of our hotels and resorts and, along with the launch of our partnership with Tipsarevic Luxury Tennis, our 12 thalassotherapy centres and numerous sports activities, we offer our guests unique opportunities for fitness and wellness,” the group’s Managing Director Stavros Mitsis said.

Kos Mayor Theodosios Nikitaras gave a commemorative plaque of the Municipality of Kos to Real Madrid champion Emilio Butragueño.

In preparation for the training camp on the island, Mitsis Hotels sponsored the renovation of the facilities of the Municipal Football Field of Kardamena, which will host youth talents after the conclusion of the program.
