Hellenic Public Properties SA (ETAD) has announced the extension of the electronic open tender for the long-term lease of the Okeanis property on the coast of Vouliagmeni, near the center of Athens.

ETAD’s decision follows the increased interest of Greek and foreign investors for the property and has set a new deadline for the submission of necessary documents by Friday, September 30.

The previous deadline was on July 28.

ETAD aims to attract investors to upgrade, renovate and develop the property into a tourist and/or catering enterprise. The duration of the lease is set at 10 years with the possibility of an extension of an additional 10 years, upon the agreement between ETAD and the selected contractor.

Okeanis is an emblematic building located in a privileged location on the Vouliagmeni coast and offers amazing views. Its name has been connected with the modern history of the Athenian Riviera.

Designed in the early 1960s, the property is the work of distinguished Greek architects Prokopis Vassiliadis, Periklis Sakellariou, Emmanouil Vourekas and their partner N.P. Hatzimichalis.

The property covers an area of 2,725sqm and includes a three-storey building covering 1,127.20sqm, that previously operated as a seaside bar-restaurant. The building is in category C based on its Energy Class Certificate.

More information on the property and the tender process is available here.
