A new tourism information kiosk is set to open its doors in the town of Leonidion in the Peloponnese, following the signing of an agreement between the Peloponnese Region and the Municipality of South Kynouria.

Leonidion is part of South Kynouria, an area of unique natural beauty located in Arcadia in the eastern part of the Peloponnese.

The tourism information kiosk in Leonidion will soon open its doors to provide the destination’s visitors with information on the area’s archaeological sites, museums, cultural areas, accommodation, F&B and entertainment options.

Furthermore, it will contribute to the region’s efforts to promote the destination and increase tourism flows as well as collect valuable data that could support the area’s tourism strategy.

As announced, the region will undertake the kiosk’s construction project while the municipality will provide the necessary staff for its operation.

Leonidion features a number of Byzantine monuments and monasteries, as well as renowned climbing sites.

“The region’s agreement with the municipality of South Kynouria will also support initiatives that promote local tradition and the area’s unique character,” Peloponnese Governor Panagiotis Nikas said.

The governor also referred to the efforts being made by local authorities to promote climbing activities and cultural tourism in Leonidion.
