After two years of absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event will return during September 10 and 11. Greek breweries – members of the Hellenic Association of Brewers – will open their doors to visitors who will have the chance to participate in guided tours and taste many different kinds of beer. Some of the country’s largest breweries as well as microbreweries are participating in the initiative. “By visiting breweries, people learn more about beer, its characteristics and history, production procedure and ingredients while they meet brewers in person and taste various kinds of beer,” an announcement by the association said. The following breweries are participating in Open Breweries 2022: • Athenian Brewery • Pineios Brewery • Chios Brewery • Corinthian Brewery • Cretan Breweries -Zidianakis • Cretan Brewery • Kavala Microbrewery • Cyclades Microbrewery on Tinos • Local Streets Beer Microbrewery • Mykonos Brewing Company • Septem Microbrewery • Siris Microbrewery • Olympic Brewery • Protipi Synergatiki Nanozithopoiia Admission to the cooperating breweries is free but pre-registration is required for some activities due to limited time and space. More information on this year’s program of events is available here. Open Breweries launched in 2018. Its first and second edition (in 2019), attracted hundreds of people who joined the initiative to learn more on their favorite drink and share the experience. The Hellenic Association of Brewers encourages and supports initiatives that highlight the culture of beer and promote responsible consumption in the context of a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
