‘The Greek Villas’ is a Mega Sponsor of the Corfu Old Town Trail 2022

The Greek Villas, a leading luxury rental agency in Greece, is the official mega sponsor of the Corfu Old Town Trail, one of the most popular and treasured events held on the Ionian island.

Jointly organized by the Municipality of Central Corfu and the Corfu Mountain Trail Organising Team, the event is a city race that has been taking place since 2014 at the end of the tourist season. The  Corfu Old Town Trail consists of two different races – 14km and 7km – that pass through both fortresses of Corfu, as well as the two palaces (Asian Art and Mon Repo). A 6.5 km walk will also be held.

The 2022 edition will take place on September 24 with the participation of some 200 athletes from Greece and abroad.

The route of the 14 km race starts from Liston Square and, after passing through several landmarks of the Old Town, leads to the Old Fortress, passing through the small alleys of this UNESCO World Heritage monument and offering runners not only a fitness experience but also a cultural one. The shorter, 7 km route, starts together with the 14 km route but does not pass by many of the island’s landmarks.

The finish line is in the famous Liston, a trademark of the historic city center.

Apart from the stunning venue of the Corfu Old Town Trail, there will also be local traditional surprises in 20 different spots of the route with a lot of fun, music, Corfiot tradition and culture.

The Corfu Mountain Trail is a member of the International Trail Running Association, which each year organizes several thematic running events on Corfu to introduce fitness and nature lovers to the pristine natural beauty and the hidden treasures of the island as well as its culture and traditions.

“We are honoured to this year be a mega sponsor of the event, offering supplies to the athletes and special gifts such as buffs and bags,” The Greek Villas said in an announcement.
