The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) on Thursday presented a new cartoon spot that introduces Greece as a destination that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Screened for the first time on Thursday during the 15th Animasyros International Animation Festival on the island of Syros, the spot, titled “Greece. More than the eye can see”, presents the country as an ever-evolving sustainable destination, accessible 365 days a year.

“The GNTO’s new and inspirational animation video boosts our country’s international communication strategy with innovative tools,” GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis said.

Created in collaboration with Animasyros Productions (Zedem Media), the cartoon aims to inform travelers of all ages, from all over the world, on the multitude of alternative and thematic tourism options that Greece offers.

The one-minute “Greece. More than the eye can see” cartoon showcases a significant variety of Greek landscapes and tourism activities, available to any traveller, inspired by well-known and unknown locations from around the country.

The cartoon has been released in two languages – English and German – and was created with 2D animation techniques.

This is the second animated video to be released by the GNTO to promote Greece. The first tourism cartoon “ΧέLLO Welcomes Kids to Greece”, was presented during the Animasyros animation festival last year.

Animasyros is an international animation festival that has been taking place on Syros since 2008 and includes animation movie screenings, special tributes to international festivals, a forum with the participation of distinguished Greek and foreign creators, workshops for students and children and other parallel events.
