Company updates Divani Hotels Signs UNESCO ‘Sustainable Travel Pledge’ by GTP editing team 26 September 2022 written by GTP editing team 26 September 2022 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 21 After years of following sustainable practices, Divani Collection Hotels has become the first hotel chain in Greece to sign the UNESCO “Sustainable Travel Pledge”. “We are very proud of this unique distinction” said Konstantina Divani, Marketing & Operations Director of the Divani Collection Hotels. The UNESCO Pledge aims to promote sustainable travel and raise community awareness on the pressing challenge of climate change. Companies that sign the pledge are expected to publicly implement measures that will reduce their environmental impact through energy and water conservation and a reduction of waste and single – use plastics among other relevant actions. “Signing the Pledge strengthens our commitment to continue our long – running efforts towards a more environmentally friendly future,” Divani added. Divani Collection Hotels has shown its commitment to sustainability by taking a number of measures. Today, most of the lighting at its hotels has been replaced by LED light technology while water flow reducers have been installed in guestrooms and public areas. The hotel chain has also imposed green cleaning techniques, avoiding the use of toxic chemicals, while it carries out separate sorting activities for a wide range of waste materials and aims to participate in future municipal bio – recycling actions. Divani Collection Hotels consists of seven luxury hotels in Athens (Apollon Suites, Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso, Divani Caravel Hotel, Divani Palace Acropolis), Larissa (Divani Palace Larissa Hotel), Meteora (Divani Meteora Hotel), and Corfu (Divani Corfu Palace).
