Entitled “culture path”, the exhibition is currently running at AIA’s exhibition area “Art & Environment” at Departures Level (entrance no. 3) and is open to visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until April 19, 2023. The exhibition is an interactive cultural “path” where AR technology is used to bring Greece’s cultural heritage together with modern and contemporary creation. According to AIA, the exhibition aims to become a journey through cultural milestones and less known works of art from museums all over Greece. “A proposed starting point for a dialogue of artistic creation that explores the borders of fantasy and an invitation for a future visit to Greece’s museums,” AIA said in an announcement. “culture path” evolves beyond the airport’s main exhibition area and offers the opportunity to all travelers and visitors to experience and “navigate” into an innovative and interactive cultural path. The “culture path” exhibition follows the success of previous exhibitions hosted at AIA in collaboration with ADAF such as “Feel Free to Feel Green” in 2014, “#PostFuture Journey” in 2017 and the recent “IMAGINAIRY”, which highlighted the new metaverse era through a panorama of video art and animation inspired by themes including: Future, Mankind, City, Travel, Destination, Nature and Expression. Works displayed at AIA’s “culture path” have been chosen by the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports in collaboration with a number of museums in Greece including the National Archaeological Museum, the National Museum of Contemporary Art, The National Gallery of Greece and the Archaeological Museum of Olympia. The Athens Digital Arts Festival (ADAF) is an annual international festival dedicated to exploring the relationship between art, science, and technology. Showcasing contemporary digital art forms from a diverse global community of artists and scientists, ADAF has been representing Greece internationally in digital arts since 2005 and is the first institution of its kind to be established in the region.
