Located in the Peloponnese peninsula of southern Greece, Trikala Korinthias is a picturesque mountainous village famous for its quality of air, vineyards and spring waters. The food festival, which is scheduled to take place on October 23, follows a string of successful events that took place at the Greek fishing village of Tolo in Argolis, the coastal area of Astros in Kinouria, the town of Koroni in Messinia and the small town of Areopoli in Laconia. Festivities at the 1st Peloponnese Food Stories final destination will take place in the center of Trikala’s middle district (Mesaia Trikala) at 12 noon and include an exhibition of local products, a cooking show by guest chefs and tasting events. Photo source: Mythical Peloponnese The event at Trikala Korinthias will conclude with an outdoor banquet which organizers say will feel like having lunch at a Greek family table on a Sunday. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience Corinth’s mosaic of tastes and tales, meet local farmers and food companies and taste famous PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) products. The main focus of the 1st Peloponnese Food Stories festival was to introduce visitors to the culinary wealth of different destinations of the Peloponnese, promote local products used in creative recipes by guest chefs and also highlight food’s universal bond with history and culture.
