Photo source: SEGAS Greek runner Charalampos Pitsolis is the winner of the 39th “Athens Marathon, the Authentic” (AMA), which took place in Athens on Sunday. Cheered on by the crowds, Pitsolis completed the historic 45.2km race in a total time of 02:23:44. In second place, last year’s winner Konstantinos Gkelaouzos clocking 2:24:45 and in third Konstantinos Stamoulis (2:25:37). Charalampos Pitsolis. I’ve cried three times in my life: in 2019, when I entered the Kallimarmaro third, when I found out my wife was pregnant, and now after winning the Athens Marathon,” said Pitsolis.
