The 12th Selectour conference, held under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), brings together sector professionals including executives from airlines and hotel chains, French tourism experts as well as tour operators and travel agents from France. Greek regions will be able to participate in the four-day event showcasing their offerings to French tourism and travel stakeholders and engaging in B2B meetings and networking. Photo source: Selectour. “Hosting Selectour’s flagship conference in Athens, with more than 500 delegates from the French tourism sector is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the importance of the French market for Greek tourism. Our aim is to extend the season and welcome French travelers throughout the year,” said GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis. Indicatively, the number of tourist arrivals from France to Greece so far this year is up by 23 percent compared to record-breaking 2019. Fragakis also referred to the importance of strategic partnerships between the two countries, adding that “the Selectour network will be an important ally in our goal to achieve a tourism model that develops responsibly and has local communities at its core”. GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis Topics topping the Selectour conference agenda include 2022 performance and results, new challenges regarding energy sufficiency and cost issues, green policies and sustainable tourism initiatives, as well as cultural and culinary activities so that French delegates have a chance to discover contemporary Athens. Special guest this year, former French premier Jean Castex will give a lecture on Athens. Selectour represents over 1,200 travel agencies and tour operators in 600 cities and 4,000 travel advisors specializing in leisure and business travel.
