Photo source: Attica Group. Attica Group’s three new AERO highspeed vessels were voted as “Ships of the Year” at the recently held Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards 2022. Launched in 2004, the awards honor the biggest achievements in the Greek shipping community with a judging panel of experts representing all sectors of Greek shipping. Attica Group CEO Spyros Paschalis received the company’s award during a ceremony with an audience of almost 1,000 guests. The three AERO vessels, which were officially inaugurated last September at the port of Piraeus, were deployed on Hellenic Seaway’s Saronic routes last August contributing further to the economic development of the Saronic islands and their local communities. Attica Group has invested over 1.8 billion euros in total on building new vessels, making the company a pioneer in the introduction of new and innovative vessel designs with the most up-to-date technologies, travelling at the Greek seas. The company is active in passenger shipping through Superfast Ferries, Blue Star Ferries, Hellenic Seaways and Africa Morocco Link operating 35 vessels in total, which provide sea transportation services in Greece and abroad. The Group’s vessels travel in four countries, to 60 unique destinations, connecting 71 ports and transporting over 7 million passengers, 1 million private vehicles and 400,000 freight units annually.
