Brown Hotels Invites Athens’ Residents, Visitors to Omonoia Christmas Market

Brown Hotels is inviting residents and visitors in Athens to experience the holiday season at the Omonoia Christmas Market in the city center and enjoy lots of shopping, music, dance and cheer.

The Christmas market opened last weekend at Omonoia, one of the most famous square’s of Athens, and every day from 11am is open to all to shop for gifts, sample holiday treats, listen to live music and more. The Omonoia Christmas Market will be open until January 1.

Brown Hotels, an Israel-based hotel chain that has invested and opened a number of hotels around Omonoia Square in Athens in other Greek destinations, is one of the main sponsors of the event.

“I invite our Athenian friends and neighbors to visit us and enjoy this very festive atmosphere but also to see up close the radical and beautiful transformation of Omonoia,” Brown Hotels founder Leon Avigad said.

Known for having a soft spot for the Athenian square, Avigad said the Omonoia Christmas Market is of great importance for the whole city as it brings a breath of life to the area.

“The Brown Hotels team, along with myself, our partners and sponsors of the Omonoia Christmas Market, are proud to have contributed to the revival of Omonia square, right in the heart of the historical center of Athens,” he said, thanking the city’s mayor, Kostas Bakoyannis, for his cooperation.

The Omonoia Christmas Market is part of the municipality’s Christmas in Athens program that includes concerts, performances, parties, shows, workshops, and happenings in 129 neighborhoods and 35 squares across the city. The full program of events can be found here.
