Individually, enterprises offering accommodation services reported a 30.7 percent rise in turnover in October to 637,614,417 euros over October 2021 and 487,914,972 euros. The country’s accommodation services providers saw turnover in the third quarter (Q3) of the year also increase by 38.6 percent driven by strong tourism demand.

October turnover for restaurants, cafes and bars in Greece came to 184,507,183 euros, up by 19.7 percent against October 2021 and 154,083,579 euros.

“F&B and accommodation are two of many sectors in the [Greek] economy that are strengthened by the extension of the tourist season. According to ELSTAT, October turnover in accommodation and F&B increased compared to October 2019,” said Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias commenting on the news.
