Demand by Dutch travelers for Greece is going strong on the back of a good year in 2022, said the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) after gathering feedback during the “Vakantiebeurs 2023” expo held in Utrecht. According to the GNTO, traveler flows from the Netherlands to Greek destinations in 2022 exceeded pre-Covid 2019 levels by 31 percent making Greece second among the top destinations after Spain and before Turkey. Under the GNTO booth, 15 Greek regions including Epirus, Central Macedonia, Western Macedonia, Central Greece, North Aegean, and Crete presented their tourism offerings to Dutch visitors, who also had the chance to sample Greek foods and wines and learn more about Greek gastronomy.
