Photo source: ΕΥ ΖΗΝ Greece. The world-renowned IRONMAN triathlon race is scheduled to return to Greece during October 20-22. IRONMAN is the world’s leading triathlon event, with over 200 races a year and 400,000 entries in more than 90 countries. The Vouliagmeni race is particularly unique, as it takes place in a natural landscape with a long coastline. Co-organized by the Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni Municipality and EY ZHN Greece, the “IRONMAN 70.3 Vouliagmeni, Greece” event promises to offer exciting and powerful moments to its participants and attendees. Nicknamed the “World’s Bluest IRONMAN”, the event last year saw the participation of a record-breaking 1,800 athletes, 5,500 visitors and spectators, and 550 volunteers. “We invite everyone to the 2023 edition of one of the largest triathlon events taking place in Greece,” said Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni, Mayor Grigoris Constantellos adding that the municipality has successfully prepared to rehost the race. Vasia Birliraki, Managing Director of EY ZHN Greece, thanked Constantellos and the Municipality for the collaboration and expressed her gratitude for the support her team got during last year’s run. Two parallel events are also scheduled to take place during the event, aiming to make its experience more family-friendly: The Under Armor Night Run Vouliagmeni will take place on Friday, October 20, 2023, and the IRONKIDS Greece – Vouliagmeni, designed for children 6-12 years old, will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
