Photo source: CK Strategies The Greek island of Kos, the third largest of the Dodecanese complex, showed its best to the Dutch market during the Vakantiebeurs tourism and leisure fair that recently took place in Utrecht. Held in the Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs Exhibition & Convention Center Utrecht in mid-January, VakantieBeurs hosted travel agencies and cultural associations from all across the world that presented their countries and marketed their tourism offerings. Photo source: CK Strategies A delegation from the Municipality of Kos, headed by the island’s mayor, Theodosis Nikitaras, took part in the exhibition and held a series of meetings with tour operators and media representatives from the Netherlands, aiming to pass on the message that the Greek island is open throughout the year. ‘Kos, a smart choice all year round’ “Our goal is to convey the message to tourism professionals and the traveling public that Kos is ‘a smart choice all year round’… This message accompanies every promotional activity of Kos in Greece and abroad,” a representative of the municipality said. Photo source: CK Strategies During the VakantieBeurs 2023 expo, Kos’ representatives held meetings with airlines Condor, SKY express and Corendon. According to the municipality, the air carriers announced their intention to increase flights to the island’s airport this year. Moreover, the municipality’s representatives held very constructive Β2Β meetings with leading Dutch tour operators and travel agents that specialize in cultural tourism, gastronomy tourism, wine tourism and outdoor activities such as TUI, Sunweb, FTI, Karins Choice, And Olives, We Fly Cheap and Prijsvrij. Contacts were also made with journalists and publishers from leading Dutch media such as Marie Claire, Telegraaf, Metro, Griekenland.net, Nos, Nautique and Grazia.
