Photo source: Accor. Accor, a world-leading hospitality group, recently appointed Philippe Bijaoui as Senior Vice-President Development, Europe & North Africa. Bijaoui will be responsible for overseeing the development of Accor’s economy, midscale, and premium brands in the region and will play a vital role in defining the growth strategy in collaboration with the company’s Global Chief Development Officer. With almost 30 years of experience in the hotel industry for international groups, Bijaoui’s arrival is expected to support Accor’s ambition to remain the fastest-growing hotel group across all segments in Europe & North Africa and continue the expansion of its brands in the region. The new development vice-president will be part of the newly formed Europe North Africa Executive Committee, as well as the Global Development and D&TS Committee, and will be based in Paris. Bijaoui has held several development management positions in international hotel groups, including IHG, Wyndham Hotel Group, and most recently Christie & Co. In 2020, he was awarded the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyor (RICS) qualification, recognizing his professional competence in the property, construction, and infrastructure markets.
