Photo source: GNTO. The services of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) branch in Germany efforts were recently applauded and honored at the 13th Globus Awards event. Held at Depot 1899 in Frankfurt, the awards ceremony was organized by leading German travel market magazine Touristik Aktuell and attended by over 250 representatives of Germany’s tourism market. Greece and its GNTO German branch were honored by the German travel & tourism agencies with the third best place in the “Best Travel Agency Services by Tourism Boards” category. On the sidelines of the event, the GNTO German branch team, led by Nikoleta Lekanidou, met with representatives of tour operators, airlines and travel agencies, reaffirming Germany as one of Greece’s largest tourism markets. During the event, tour operators Schauinsland-Reisen and Alltours were also recognized for their efforts. Tour operators Chamäleon and Phoenix Reisen won the Best Thematic Tour Operator award and AIDA Cruises and TUI Cruises were honored for their services in the cruise sector. Moreover, Iberostar and Ryu claimed top spots in the Best Hotel Chain category.
