AEGEAN Launches 10 Direct Flights to Destinations in the Middle East

Greek carrier AEGEAN is boosting its activity in the Middle East announcing this week 10 new direct flights to a number of destinations.

More specifically, AEGEAN will be operating direct routes to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, and Kuwait, connecting Greece and Europe with the Middle East.

Among others, AEGEAN is launching its first direct flight from Athens to Kuwait, doubling seats on flights to and from Saudi Arabia, adding routes to Riyadh and Jeddah, and introducing flights to Dammam.

AEGEAN’s Athens-Kuwait flight, added to its summer program, will begin in June. The airline’s Athens-Dammam flight will start in May and run all year round.

Additionally, AEGEAN connects Athens with Cairo with two daily flights and with Alexandria with three weekly flights; Athens with Amman with up to four weekly flights all year long; Athens with Beirut runs daily all year round; and  new seasonal routes will be added for the summer connecting Mykonos and Heraklion directly with Beirut.

With the addition of aircraft to meet the flight schedule, AEAGEN will run up to 11 weekly flights from Athens to and from Saudi Arabia.

AEGEAN has been serving the Middle East since 2009 initially with its direct connection to Lebanon. The company has made it a priority to expand in the Middle Eastern market adding new destinations in Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and increasing flight frequency, aiming to put Athens and AEGEAN at the top of Arab traveler choices.

Meanwhile, the Greek airline said it had recorded strong profitability and revenue in the third quarter of 2022 carrying 4.6 million passengers. Consolidated revenues in Q3 reached 571.4 million euros, profit before taxes at 152.1 million euros up by 158 percent over 2021, and net income came to 120.8 million euros.
