Scheduled to take place during March 7 to 9, the show will take place as a live, in person event, on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. Visitors can find the combined stand of BER, Berlin, and Brandenburg, which will be representing the “German Capital Region” at hub27. Trade visitors to the show will be particularly interested in the growth of digital and automated services at BER. Last summer, BER was Europe’s first airport to introduce a system for booking security check time slots, designated BER Runway. The BER Runway in action. Photo source: BER. Furthermore, self-service check-in and automated bag drop services were significantly expanded, and around 120 self-service check-in machines were rapidly increased, with usage rising by 40 percent. These machines are not restricted to any particular carrier and are available to all airlines, making them popular with passengers as they save time and offer many services. “We warmly welcome all visitors arriving at BER and holidaymakers to the region. We cordially invite all visitors to ITB to exchange views about air travel options and the services at BER and will gladly offer a glimpse of the fascinating developments at Berlin Brandenburg Airport,” said Aletta von Massenbach, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. In 2022, ITB Berlin planned a series of B2B networking events in European markets under the heading “TRVLX by ITB,” with the kick-off event taking place last May in Georgia. Since its inception in 1966, ITB Berlin has been the world’s leading travel trade show, with around 10,000 exhibitors from 181 countries displaying their products and services to some 160,000 visitors, including 113,500 trade visitors, at the 2019 edition of the event.
