Italian flag-carrier, ITA Airways, is strengthening its offer of direct connections between Rome and New York to meet high demand. According to an announcement, an additional round-trip flight Rome-New York – the AZ 602 and AZ 603 – will start operations as of June 1, bringing the daily frequencies between the Italian capital and JFK Airport to three. Considering also the daily connection operated from Milan Malpensa to New York JFK, departing at 12:55 pm and landing at 4:15 pm local time, the daily round-trip flights operated by ITA Airways between Italy and the Big Apple add up to four, bringing the total number of weekly frequencies to JFK to 28. Operated by an Airbus A330, the new AZ602 will depart every day at 9:15 am from Fiumicino to land at 1:00 pm local time in New York. The new connection joins the AZ608 departing at 10:10 am and the AZ610 departing at 3:10 pm from Rome Fiumicino already in the airlines’s schedule. The new return flight from New York, AZ603, will depart at 6:05 pm local time, to arrive in Rome at 8:40 am and will complete ITA Airways’ JFK – FCO offer, which already includes AZ609 departing at 4:00 pm from JFK and AZ611 taking off at 9:30 pm, local time.
