Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, is set to significantly expand its operations in the United States this summer. The airline has announced that it will increase the number of flights to New York, its most popular destination in the U.S., with daily flights from June 18 until the beginning of September. This represents the airline’s biggest increase in the number of weekly flights to New York to date and is the result of its recent expansion of its long-haul fleet. Air Serbia has been operating flights to New York for seven years, but until now, the number of weekly flights has never exceeded six. However, thanks to a series of measures including strengthening its fleet and expanding its cabin crew team, the airline can now operate daily flights to New York throughout the summer. “Air Serbia has undertaken significant efforts to expand and improve its operations, and we are very pleased to be able to offer our passengers the convenience of daily flights to New York this summer,” said Air Serbia’s Vice President Americas George Petkovic. Since launching the Belgrade-New York route in 2016, Air Serbia has flown over 460,000 passengers on this route alone. The airline currently operates flights between Belgrade and New York three times a week during the winter season, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Apart from increasing its flights to New York, Air Serbia will also launch scheduled direct flights between Belgrade and Chicago from May 17, 2023. In the period until June 12, flights to Chicago O’Hare International Airport will be operated twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and from June 12, three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. This expansion into the U.S. market is a testament to Air Serbia’s commitment to providing better connectivity for its passengers between Serbia, the region, Europe, and different destinations across the U.S. Thanks to its partnership with American Airlines, passengers can also enjoy simpler trips from Belgrade, via New York and Chicago, to the east and west coasts of the United States. Air Serbia currently operates scheduled, seasonal, and charter flights to over 70 destinations in Europe, the Mediterranean, North America, Asia, and Africa for both passenger and cargo traffic. In addition to Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, Air Serbia also operates flights from Constantine the Great Airport in Niš and from International Airport Morava near Kraljevo.
