Over the years, the Athens Flying Week event has attracted a large number of foreign visitors, thus strengthening Greece’s tourism product.

The Athens Flying Week is organized by Podimatas Group (Podimatas Audiovisual, PPDA, Upbeat), with sponsorship from Aegean, EAB, Lockheed Martin, Rafale International and Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”.

Athens Flying Week was honored by the European Airshow Council. Founded by a group of like minded airshow professionals in 2001, the Council aims to promote excellence and safety in airshows and represents the wider continental European air display industry. The organisation is made up of members from over 35 nations from Europe and many others from across the globe.

Dr. Manolis Karahalios, founding member and Flight Display Director of Athens Flying Week, was recently appointed as the council’s president.
