The new partnership will see BBT Air responsible for the airline’s sales and development, as well as overall representation in the Greek market, providing high-end quality services to individual passengers and travel agencies. “This strategic partnership will enable us to tap the ever-growing passenger traffic to one of the most prominent tourist and picturesque destinations in Europe,” SpiceJet Chief Commercial Officer Shilpa Bhatia said. BBT Air will take care of sales and marketing activities for SpiceJet in Greece, opening new sales opportunities for the airline. According to BBT Air’s Commercial Manager Konstantinos Melas, Greece’s strong performance in Marine/Offshore traffic offers can boost SpiceJet’s expansion potential into the market, with BBT Air’s focusing on approaching marine travel agencies, providing them with an alternative option for flights within India and beyond. “Starting from marine travel agencies, we will work towards the further development of SpiceJet in our country and why not see a direct flight between Athens and Delhi in the future. A coveted route that Greece is currently missing,” said Melas. SpiceJet flights are already available for sale via its website, travel agencies with access to its B2B portal, and BBT Air Aviation Services’ headquarters office, which also accepts and handles group requests and provides support to local travel agents. BBT Air’s appointment as GSA in the Greek market is part of SpiceJet’s commitment to growing internationally and offering seamless end-to-end connectivity to its passengers between the two countries. The airline operates a fleet of Boeing 737s, Q-400s & freighters, and is the India’s largest regional player operating multiple daily flights under UDAN or the Regional Connectivity Scheme.
