More specifically, Hotelbeds Group, a global B2B company and bedbank, informed that demand for Greek destinations in the first quarter of the year was on the rise with bookings for the country up by 20 percent compared to the same period a year ago and up by 12 percent over pre-Covid 2019. “The GNTO seeks to promote Greece internationally through partnerships with the biggest players on the market. Our partnership with Hotelbeds is extremely important and aims to promote our country as a year-round destination,” GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis said following a meeting with Hotelbeds CEO Nicolas Huss, the company’s managing director, Carlos Muñoz, and regional director of destination marketing, Florian Blois. During the meeting, which was also attended by the GNTO’s general manager, Sofia Lazaridou, and director of tourism promotion, Eleni Mitraki, Hotelbeds and the organization discussed ways to further promote Greece particularly during the off season. “Our shared vision is to grow into the future and we look forward to continuing this success through our close collaboration with our local partners,” said Huss. During their Athens visit, Hotelbeds executives together with the Regional Director of Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Malta and Balkan countries, Marta Gonzales and her team, held a hoteliers event at the Grand Hyatt. Some 100 Greek hoteliers attended the event. “It’s great to meet our Greek partners, talk to them and find ways to support them as best as possible. Such opportunities play a primary role in our company’s human-centered approach at a professional level,” said Muñoz.
