The Greek tourism minister said Kalamata was already an established destination, set to benefit even further as a year-round tourist hotspot thanks the earlier launch of the tourist season. “The tourist season started earlier than ever on February 19 with a direct flight from Munich. At the same time, the city is emerging as one of the most popular city break destinations for Greeks, while gradually hosting digital nomads from all over the world… strengthening the local economy and the local community, which combined with large tourism and hotel investments create prospects for an excellent year,” said Kikilias. Vassilopoulos said the meeting was “constructive” and added that all the signs for a positive year ahead were encouraging for Greece and Kalamata.
