Photo source: Radisson Hotel Group. Radisson Hotel Group announced this week that it would be opening a new hotel in the heart of Athens on Theatrou Square. The US hospitality operator signed an agreement with Gnosis Investments for the Radisson Theatrou Square Athens set to open its doors to the public in 2024. The company will restore and renovate a historic building in the center of Athens making it Radisson’s fourth hotel in the Greek capital. Besides offering the finest amenities and services, the Radisson Theatrou Square Athens includes a focus on gastronomy with the creation of food market on the ground floor of the hotel. “The second agreement in the historic center of Athens, again with Gnosis Investments as our strategic partner makes Radisson Group the only international chain with a presence in the historic triangle of the Greek capital,” said Vice President of Development Radisson Hotel Group, Elie Milky. “Recent archaeological excavations on Theatrou Square further highlight the area and the new hotel combined with the upcoming Radisson RED on Mitropoleos St make the destination more attractive to a lifestyle customer. On his part, CEO of Gnosis Investments Petros Politis said: “We are proud to be part of efforts to regenerate such an important area where the theater of the city of Athens was located. As always, every aspect of the design of this new lifestyle hotel will be done with respect to local history.” Earlier this year, Radisson opened The Social Athens Hotel, a member of the Radisson Individuals brand on Voukourestiou St in Athens in addition to its Radisson Blu Park Hotel.
