ITA Airways recently showcased its Airbus A320neo with new interiors designed by Walter De Silva and inaugurated the new Hangar Lounge at the Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Fiumicino. The presentation event was attended by the company’s CEO and General Director Fabio Lazzerini, the Chairman of ITA Airways Antonino Turicchi, members of the Italian and international press, local officials, tourism stakeholders, and travel trade representatives. Flight and airport staff welcomed guests in new uniforms made with the stylistic advice of Brunello Cucinelli, which are now worn by all the company’s cabin crew. “ITA Airways celebrates an important achievement in its growth: today we’re showcasing the new interiors of our Airbus A320neo of the latest generation, the ITA Airways uniforms, now worn by all our cabin crew, and the new Hangar Lounge,” said Lazzerini during the event. The new interiors of ITA Airways’ Airbus A320neo were designed with natural materials and colors to convey a feeling of comfort in the limited space of an airplane cabin, while adhering to strict aeronautical standards. Seats are equipped with USB A + C outlets for electrical recharging, and for the first time, the medium-range ITA Airways fleet will offer a payment and free IFE wireless connectivity service. Furthermore, ITA Airways’ new Hangar Lounge, reserved for business class passengers, Executive and Premium Volare members, as well as Skyteam Elite Plus members, was developed thanks to important synergies with some of the most prestigious Italian brands. The lounge offers a service that embodies Italian excellence, reflecting the company’s goal of being an ambassador of Italian excellence in the world. The new uniforms. Photo source: ITA Airways. Last month, ITA Airways received two new Airbus A320neo aircraft, furthering its efforts towards sustainability since the particular aircraft type benefits from a 20 percent reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per passenger compared to previous generation aircraft. Remaining loyal to its sustainability goals, the company is expected to launch an “art wears sustainability” initiative soon. Several independent artists at the main Italian fashion and design institutes will create actual works of art from the company’s discontinued uniforms.
