Destinations news ChatGPT Says Greece a Top Global Travel Destination by GTP editing team 21 April 2023 written by GTP editing team 21 April 2023 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 22 Greece is ranked fourth among the world’s top 25 destinations to travel to according to artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT. The new technology which entered the market last November and has since taken the world by storm is set to change the way people travel. According to a recent experiment carried out by German wellness travel group Fit Reisen, Greece and Spain were listed fourth after Italy and Japan, France and Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. Fit Reisen put in criteria such as attractions, activities, accommodation, local cuisine, general safety and weather and asked the AI tool to award points between 1 and 100 for each and then list the 25 countries that were most suitable for holidays. The test was conducted to assess how accurate ChatGPT can be in its findings. One of the negative aspects of the new AI technology concerns it lack of updated information. The experiment above ran in mid-March but the chatbot can only draw from data until the end of 2021. According to ChatGPT, the top 25 countries in the world to travel are: Italy and Japan receiving 605 out of 700 points in the ChatGPT ranking, with Italy rated for its excellent cuisine, nature, city trips or beach holidays and its reputation as a destination for culture. In second place France and Canada garnering 600 out of 700 points, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 595 points thanks to its many days of sunshine all year round and good weather. These are the best destinations to visit according to ChatGPT: Italy and Japan, France and Canada, United Arab Emirates, Greece and Spain, USA; Germany, Holland and Portugal; Austria, Thailand, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Croatia and Malaysia, Hungary, Macau and Mexico, Turkey, China, Poland, Russia and India. Last month, Euronews Travel also asked ChatGPT to plan a dream holiday around Europe. After recommending days in Paris, Rome, Barcelona and Amsterdam, the bot suggested ending the dream vacation in Santorini, prompting users to “enjoy the stunning sunsets, swim in the clear blue waters, and take a boat tour around the island. This will be the perfect way to end your European adventure”, it said.
