The Cyprus-Greece ferry connection, which successfully began last year, is set to resume operations on May 31, according to a recent announcement by Scandro Holding Ltd. The Limassol to Piraeus ferry connection had been on a 21-year hiatus before Scandro Holding won the tender launched by the Cypriot Deputy Ministry of Shipping bidding last year seeking to re-connect Cyprus and Greece by sea. The Cypriot-flagged MV Daleela, which served as the sole passenger vessel for the connection last year, will also operate in 2023. According to Scandro Holding, after taking into account last year’s reviews, the Daleela vessel will operate with improved services to enhance the passenger experience. The Daleela has a capacity for 400 people, 38 first-class cabins for 110 passengers, 68 second-class cabins for 180 passengers, 110 airline-type seats, and can accommodate over 300 vehicles. In addition to the port of Limassol, Scandro Holding Ltd has included the Larnaca port in this year’s itinerary to assist traveler’s requests. The season’s first trip will depart from Limassol on May 31, while the last route from Piraeus to Larnaca is scheduled for September 1. It is worth noting that the ferry connection between Cyprus and Greece has already gained popularity among travelers who prefer to travel to and from Cyprus in their private cars. The service offers an alternative mode of transport, especially for those who face difficulties in traveling by air, either for medical reasons or due to flying-related phobias. Last year, the Cyprus-Greece ferry passenger connection transported a total of 7,412 passengers and 2,250 vehicles. The reservation and ticket purchase system is already in operation for the 2023 season. BBT Air is the General Sales Agent (GSA) of Scandro Holding in Greece.
