Marketing Greece, a private sector initiative, recently announced executive moves in support of the organization’s efforts to promote Greek tourism.

In its 10th year and founded by the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) and the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels to promote tourism in Greece, Marketing Greece’s aim is to boost the image and reputation of Greece internationally by repositioning and promoting all aspects of its tourism product.

As part of the organization’s management transition plan, effective immediately, Nikos Diamantopoulos has become General Manager, marking the start of a new dynamic period for the organization.

Having joined Marketing Greece since its foundation, Diamantopoulos, an executive with deep knowledge of the company and many years of experience, has been appointed to lead Marketing Greece in its next steps.

“Having been with the organization since the beginning, I am very proud of its course and the team of Marketing Greece and confident of the new accomplishments we can bring,” he said.

Ioanna Dretta, Marketing Greece’s CEO for the last six years, has stepped down from her position and will remain on the board of directors, continuing to support the organization’s executives with her know how and experience.

“Marketing Greece, for 10 years now, produces an image and reputation for our country and knowledge for all those involved in tourism, in an influential and decisive way… Now, as a member of the Board, I will continue to support this great effort,” Dretta said.

Thanking Dretta for her contribution to the organization and to Greek tourism in general, SETE President Yiannis Retsos said Marketing Greece is now “mature, strong, efficient and ready to move to its next phase”, responding to the new needs in tourism that are constantly arising.

“It is particularly important that the organization’s team has the knowledge, training and motivation to rise to the occasion and lead Marketing Greece to new success stories,” Retsos said, wishing the executives “every success” in their new duties.

Moreover, Marketing Greece has announced that Rena Skouloudis and Thrasyvoulos Petropoulos, both among the company’s first executives, have been promoted to the positions of Senior Marketing Strategist and Head of Editorial, respectively.
