Flisvos Marina, a leading marina in Greece, recently showcased its green initiatives at The Arch: The European Event to Accelerate the Ecological Transition. Government officials, partners, and industry leaders attended the event, part of The Arch’s initiative to symbolically present green innovations during a 10-stopover sailing European tour which will bring together nearly 3,000 leaders, experts, solution providers, citizens, associations, and more. Flisvos Marina’s participation in the program, the 7th stop of Maxi-Trimaran IDEC-Sport’s eco – awareness journey around Europe, offered the opportunity to present its smart and sustainable solutions, which include the use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) for its electricity needs, the installation of an electric car charging network, and educational programs promoting green transition for marinas. Stavros Katsikadis, Managing Director of LAMDA Marinas Investments, highlighted the marina’s innovative and sustainable solutions and announced plans to further transform Flisvos Marina into a model innovation center. The development projects scheduled for completion by 2024 include the installation of 5G and fiber optic networks, expansion of the electric charging station network, and installation of a photovoltaic system. Katsikadis emphasized the importance of training and attracting labor in the marina industry, which still faces significant shortages. Flisvos Marina’s investment project worth 55 million dollars has transformed it into a modern, high-quality tourist port that can dock 310 large yachts. The marina has commercial uses, such as restaurants, cafes, shops, and yachting services and is certified for quality, environmental protection, and safety & health, in accordance with international ISO requirements.
