On show in the “Art & Environment” area of the Departures Level, the UN-LIMITED SKY exhibition shows works of students of the “Visual Art Applications” laboratory of the Department of Photography and Audiovisual Arts at the University of West Attica. The exhibition originally began as an idea from Athens International Airport and was later passed on to the university students. “The exhibition was meant to serve as an annual monothematic project, and the students embraced the challenge with great enthusiasm,” AIA said in an announcement. Over the course of a year, the students created original works using the collage technique, with their ideas revolving around themes such as Sky, Limited-Unlimited, Countries, Journeys, Nations, Earth, Travel, Space, Border-Borderless, and other personal interpretations of concepts and terms. The selected artworks of this “journey” are presented at the Athens International Airport both in wall-mounted digital prints and in a continuous stream of images projected on a video. “The UN-LIMITED SKY exhibition holds special meaning for the airport of Athens as it is the 100th exhibition to be hosted in its premises since its inception,” AIA said. Moreover, the exhibition also stands as a testament to the airport’s commitment to showcasing the works of talented students and promoting art and culture through synergies and collaborations with educational institutions and other organizations. The exhibition, which also celebrates the first five years of the University of West Attica’s operation, will run until the end of the year and is free to the public.
