The Greek island of Mykonos is the top most searched for international destination by US travelers seeking Airbnb accommodation in the first quarter of the year, according to the Airbnb 2023 Summer report released this week.

The popular Greek island is the top trending summer international destination based on US traveler search followed by Niagara Falls, Canada; Interlaken, Switzerland; Amalfi, Italy; Florence, Italy; Bangkok, Thailand; Sorrento, Italy; Toronto, Canada; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Baniff, Canada.

According to the same report, trending summer destinations worldwide in Q1 by search are Kuta Utara, Bali; Ksamil, Albania; Barcelona, Spain; London, England; Gotland, Sweden; Louisville, US; Rome, Italy; Rouen, France; Marrakesh, Morocco, and Grindelwald Switzerland.

Airbnb is expecting more than 300 million travelers to select its rooms and homes worldwide this year, while bookings have already been made in more than 72,000 cities and towns for the summer ahead.

Since the launch of Airbnb, there have been 1.4 billion guest arrivals, with more people traveling in 2022 than ever before.

According to the report, it’s not surprising that international jet setters are eyeing Mykonos describing the island as “nothing short of spectacular” and attracting visitors thanks to its beaches, parties and fun.

Earlier this month, the home-sharing giant announced the launch of a new product: Airbnb Rooms, as well as more than 50 new features and improvements based on experiences and feedback from Airbnb users and hosts.
