The Western Greece Region showed its diverse travel offerings during the TBEX Europe 2023 conference – the largest event for travel journalists, bloggers, and online content creators – hosted by the Peloponnese Region. Held in Kalamata from 8 to 11 May, the event saw over 300 travel bloggers taking part in networking events, fam trips and a two-day conference. During a networking event, representatives from Western Greece promoted the region’s diverse destinations and travel options through a series of B2B meetings. The representatives presented a comprehensive view of the region and highlighted the various thematic tourism forms that are available and provide authentic travel experiences. “Through Western Greece’s participation in such initiatives, we actively support the digital promotion of our region,” said Takis Papadopoulos, the Western Greece Vice-Regional Head of Administration and e-Governance. After the conference, some 250 bloggers, mainly travel content creators and online media representatives, participated in familiarization trips across Greece. Among other destinations they Western Greece’s cities of Patras, Kalavryta, Ancient Olympia, Mesolongi, and Nafpaktos, where they had the opportunity to explore the unique tourism products available. “Investing in tourism is increasing in the region, helping Western Greece gradually become a sought-after destination,” Papadopoulos said. The participation of the Western Greece Region in TBEX Europe 2023 highlights its commitment to position itself as a prominent global travel destination and showcasing its unique travel experiences. TBEX Europe attracts over 300 leading travel creators annually, offering information sessions, B2B meetings, workshops, storytelling, and podcasting, among other activities.
