Goldair Handling, a leading company that provides airport handling services, on Friday announced that LGS Handling Ltd was being renamed to Goldair Handling Cyprus Ltd.

Created in 2008, LGS Handling Ltd was a joint venture between Louis Group and Goldair Handling formed to tender for the liberalization of the ramp handling services at Larnaca and Pafos international airports.

Friday’s announcement follows the recent diversification of shareholdings, as Goldair Handling SA acquired the majority shareholding in LGS Handling Ltd.

“There is no doubt that this move is a significant change, however it is a smooth transition that does not differentiate the core and philosophy of the company,” the announcement by Goldair Handling said.

“Goldair” and “Louis” groups, as partners in the joint venture for over fifteen years, share the same goals, values, and vision.

According to the announcement, Goldair Handling Cyprus Ltd.’s goal is to fulfill the increasing needs of airlines operating at the two international airports of Cyprus, Larnaca & Paphos, offering reliable, quality ground handling services for passengers, aircrafts, and goods.

Under the name and brand of Goldair Handling, the company becomes an actual member of the extended family of Goldair Group, the leading regional ground handling company with a presence in more than thirty airports in South-East Europe (Greece, Cyprus & Bulgaria), two airports in India as well as in Zurich airport operating as the exclusive service provider for passengers with disabilities.

Goldair Handling is also a founding member of the European alliance of ground handling companies, “ground.net”.
