The Naxos Animal Welfare Society (NAWS) on June 4 will host its first benefit event to support the care of animals on the Greek island of Naxos. Scheduled to take place at the Tranampelo Vineyard in Glinado, Naxos, the event aims to raise awareness about animal welfare on the island and foster a symbolic dialogue between humans and their four-legged friends. The benefit event is part of the actions of the “Parley for the Animals“, an alliance for the welfare of the animals of Naxos. The event will kick off at 6 pm with games and educational discussions on animal care. Families and children will have the opportunity to learn about animal shelters, care, and dog adoption. The activities aim to engage the community in meaningful conversations about the animals’ needs. At 8 pm, attendees will be treated to a special music concert by the renowned singer-songwriter band, Siren Songs, all the way from Portland, USA. Known for their heartfelt performances, the band will entertain the audience with two 45-minute sets, promising a unique evening under the full moon at Tranampelo Vineyard. Admission to the event is completely free, with attendees encouraged to donate whatever they can towards animal welfare efforts. The evening will also feature wine and food. As space is limited, the organizer advises seat registration. Photo source: NAWS. “Parley for the Animals” was initiated by passionate residents and expatriates who share a deep connection with NAWS. Volunteers from around the world collaborate with local Naxiotians at NAWS to provide necessary care and medical treatment for sick or neglected animals. Additionally, NAWS partners with prominent European animal welfare associations to ensure a speedy and safe transition for animals in need. Established in 2005, NAWS is a dedicated group of individuals who are passionate about the welfare of stray and mistreated animals on Naxos. By joining forces as a society, they aim to tackle the challenges faced by animals more effectively. Collaborating with other animal welfare organizations, NAWS strives to improve the care and treatment of strays, ultimately creating a better future for animals on the island.
