The La Mer Resort & Spa, owned by the Gelasakis Group, was honored with two awards at this year’s Tourism Awards 2023 ceremony held recently at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Athens. Organized by Boussias Events for the 10th year, the Tourism Awards recognized Greece’s tourism pioneers for 2023. The five-star La Mer Resort & Spa located in Kavros, Crete, won the GOLD award in the Spa hotel/resort category, with its Ariadne Spa Center offering a rejuvenating wellness experience with signature treatments and Cretan time-honored detoxing ingredients and herbs. The spa center is managed by Aegeo Spas, a company with 25 years of experience in the field of wellness and management of spa and thalassotherapy centers. La Mer Resort & Spa also received the BRONZE award in the Environmental Protection Initiatives / Public Awareness / Monitoring of Environmental Indicators category. This distinction highlighted the resort’s quality and innovation in all areas related to environmental protection and sustainability. “The awards give us the strength to continue providing high quality services and unique experiences to our guests,” said Loguers Managing Director Markos Georgiou who accepted the awards. Loguers is a Greek hospitality management & consulting company that has undertaken La Mer’s sales and marketing. Georgiou also underlined Gelasakis Group’s commitment to local environmental sustainability actions that can support a viable tourism development. Last October the resort won the “Top Travel Ads Performance” award by Expedia Group at the Crete Annual Partner Awards 2022. Also, last November, La Mer received five accolades at the Greek Hospitality Awards 2022 event organized by Ethos Events. The five-star resort scooped the gold award in the Best Greek Design Resort category and received another four silver awards: Best Greek Honeymoon Resort, Best Greek View Resort, Best Greek Green Resort and Best Greek Hotel Spa.
