Greece has once again secured prestigious accolades at the Leisure Lifestyle Awards, organized by US travel magazine Global Traveler. In its 11th edition, the Leisure Lifestyle Awards honored the best in the world of leisure and lifestyle travel, recognizing goods, services and destinations. For the second year in a row, Greece emerged as the winner in the Best Historical Attractions International category as voted by the magazine’s readers. This distinction recongizes the country’s rich cultural heritage characterized by its ancient sites and landmarks. Santorini: Best island in Europe Santorini, Greece. The island of Santorini was named the Best Island in Europe for the tenth consecutive time. Santorini’s natural beauty, with its iconic white-washed buildings sitting atop volcanic cliffs and instagrammable sunsets, also earned the island a place in the awards’ Hall of Fame for this category. Furthermore, Global Traveler’s official website featured an image of Santorini as the lead photo in the article showcasing all the winners for 2023. Additionally, Mykonos, renowned for its nightlife and beautiful beaches, secured the third position in the Best Island in Europe category. Moreover, Mykonos claimed the second spot in the fiercely contested Best Beaches category, further solidifying its status as a preferred destination for beach lovers.
