Having established itself as the world’s largest exhibition of professional manned yachts and one of the most important annual milestones in the global yachting agenda, the MEDYS is organized by the Greek Yachting Association, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Nafplion and the Peloponnese Region. The event runs under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism. (L-R) Greek Yachting Association President Michalis Skoulikidis with Nafplio Mayor Dimitrios Kwstouros. MEDYS 2022 was the largest exhibition of its kind, surpassing, in number of vessels, corresponding exhibitions in Antigua (for the Western Hemisphere) and Barcelona (for the Western Mediterranean). More specifically, the 8th MEDYS registered 92 yachts with a Greek charter licence, boasting a cumulative LOA of over 3.5 kilometers with a waiting list (due to limited space in the port of Nafplion) exceeding all previous ones. The exhibition was also attended by more than 750 charter brokers from 31 countries around the world who, as every year, had the opportunity to inspect the vessels available for charter in Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean, meet their crews, learn about the range of options they offer and forge valuable collaborative relationships. MEDYS 2024 will also feature the highly renowned Chefs’ Competition, where talented chefs from participating yachts showcase their culinary competence. At the same time, a number of social events and receptions will accompany the exhibition, offering unique moments to the participants. The number and quality of participating vessels, the high level of service, the unique location and the unparalleled Greek hospitality have transformed MEDYS into one of the most prominent exhibitions of its kind worldwide. At the same time, the interconnection between central agents, brokers and professionals related to marine tourism services and products has become another comparative advantage of the exhibition over time.
