International hotel group Radisson recently partnered with PowerGo, a leading Charge Point Operator (CPO) in Europe, to provide charging solutions for electric vehicles at some 300 of its hotels across the continent over the next few years. As part of this partnership, hotels of the Radisson group can choose to collaborate with PowerGo as a Charge Point Operator (CPO). PowerGo, in turn, will manage and operate the charging infrastructure using Spirii’s EV platform. Radisson Hotel Group properties will have the advantage of accessing these services without any costs or risks. Guests will be able to use the PowerGo Charge app to access charging stations and make flexible payments. Photo source: PowerGo. The collaboration has already taken off with eight charging stations being installed at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Oslo. The installation is expected to be completed by mid-July, providing sustainable charging solutions to hotel guests and visitors alike. “Over 70 percent of our clients indicate they want to choose sustainable travel options. E-mobility is becoming an essential part of the guest experience. At Radisson Hotel Group, we recognize this trend and want to be at the forefront of promoting a green mobility mindset by making responsible stays easier,” said Inge Huijbrechts, Global SVP Sustainability, Security and Corporate Communications at Radisson Hotel Group. By collaborating with PowerGo, Radisson Hotel Group aims to surpass their current installation of 700+ EV chargers and equip eligible hotels across Europe and beyond with EV charging facilities by 2025. On his part, PowerGo Chief Technology Officer Ivo van Dam highlighted the importance of accessible and sustainable charging solutions. “We offer each hotel owner an advantageous financial model, together with completely clean and renewable energy. This is an important factor when comparing PowerGo’s solutions with those of its competitors,” he said. According to Radisson Hotel Group, the partnership with PowerGo is a significant milestone in advancing sustainable mobility within the hospitality sector with both entities demonstrating their dedication to promoting environmental consciousness and offering guests greener travel options.
