Company updates Kefalonia’s Eliamos Villas Hotel Enters Prestigious Relais & Châteaux Association by GTP editing team 11 July 2023 written by GTP editing team 11 July 2023 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 16 The Eliamos Villas Hotel & Spa on Kefalonia recently entered into the world-renowned hotel and restaurant association, Relais & Châteaux. Kefalonia’s newest arrival, Eliamos is a boutique luxury hotel that opened its doors on the south of the island in May 2023. It is the first hotel in the Ionian to be awarded the prestigious Relais & Châteaux accreditation, making it just one of six Greek hotels in the collection and one of only six hotels globally to be accredited this year. “With a shared commitment toward creating unforgettable guest experiences that celebrate our island’s incredible natural surroundings, gastronomic heritage and unique traditions, we are delighted to have been welcomed into the Relais & Châteaux association,” says Eliamos’ co-owner Maike Gruna. Perched above a secluded beach on the southern Kefalonian coastline, Eliamos offers the atmosphere of a private villa retreat, yet with access to five-star hotel facilities. The chic contemporary architecture has Mediterranean spirit, blending with its surroundings of olive trees and island scrub. The hotel consists of 12 elegant 1-, 2- or 3-bedroom villas, many of which are clad in local stone, each with a private salt-water pool or jacuzzi and views of the Ionian. Paying homage to their location, the interiors of each villa connect with the island’s earthy character, featuring natural materials such as wood and terracotta tile, and a calming colour palette, overseen by interior architect and co-owner of Eliamos, Maike of Maike Gruna Interiors and her husband Spyro, whose family originates from the island. The restaurant of the Eliamos Villas Hotel & Spa serves healthy new interpretations of Mediterranean culinary classics and Kefalonian traditions, crafted with locally sourced organic ingredients sourced from trusted nearby suppliers. The hotel also includes wellness facilities, and an in-house Reformer pilates, yoga and fitness instructor. Hiking, cycling, Jeep safaris, stargazing and boat trips to the neighbouring islands of Ithaki and Zakynthos are also on offer. “We are now the only property in the Ionian Sea in Greece in the collection and are looking forward to sharing the wonders of the magical island of Kefalonia through this new partnership,” Eliamos’ co-owner says about entering the Relais & Châteaux association. Established in France, Relais & Châteaux is a collection of the world’s finest restaurants and hotels. The group currently has about 580 members in 68 countries on five continents.
