Held every year, the festival will bring together famous chefs, authors and experts to celebrate food and travel at London’s Business Design Centre. Considering that a destination’s local gastronomy are among the main reasons for a traveler to visit, Thessaloniki’s tourism organization will have its own booth at the National Geographic Traveller Food Festival and promote the Greek city’s flavors and authentic recipes. “Local gastronomy is now included in all travel packages as it is a key element of a city’s tourism identity. For centuries, Thessaloniki has been offering a harmony of flavors, of high nutritional value,” the organization said in an announcement. Visitors at the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization’s stand will also have the chance to sample wine labels chosen by the Winemakers of Northern Greece association. The Municipality of Thessaloniki, also a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network for gastronomy, will participate in the festival in collaboration with the organization. It should be mentioned that a big tourism promotion campaign for Thessaloniki is currently running in a central part of London, presenting the city as the ultimate city break destination.
