A group of Irish influential bloggers and media professionals in June took part in a press trip to Thessaloniki and had the chance to discover all the experiences the northern Greek city has to offer. Organized by the Thessaloniki and Halkidiki tourism organizations and the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) UK & Ireland branch, the press trip aimed to promote the direct air link that connects the Greek city with Dublin. After making a stop in Halkidiki, the group continued to Thessaloniki where they were introduced to the city’s rich culture and gastronomy. One of the highlights of the Irish bloggers’ itinerary was a tour of Thessaloniki’s Ano Poli (Upper Town), which offered a panoramic view of the city’s unique sunset. The group also delved into a gastronomic adventure, exploring the bustling central markets of Thessaloniki, including the recently renovated Modiano Market, where they savored local delicacies. The guests indulged in the city’s cuisine and cocktails at renowned local restaurant Miami and bar Avenue, respectively. Meanwhile, the bloggers shared their experiences and showcased the coastal front of Kalamaria and Thessaloniki through their social media posts. Later on, the Irish journalists immersed themselves in the vibrant nightlife of Thessaloniki, captivated by the city’s dynamic atmosphere, declaring that it truly never sleeps.
