Corfu Airport is Among Europe’s Least Stressful, Says Report

The Corfu International Airport has been ranked as one of Europe’s least stressful airports, according to a recent research report released by the holiday car rental website Stressfree Car Rental.

To compile the top 10 list of Europe’s stress-free air travel hubs, the company’s experts gathered data from airports around Europe.

Based on criteria such as the airports’ total number of passengers per year, distance from the city center, car parking charges for one week, the total number of restaurants, and a quality rating score (taken from live flight tracker site Flight Radar airport reviews of passengers who have traveled to and from each airport), the final list was compiled, with each factor given a point score between one and ten. These scores were added up for each airport to provide a total number of points.

According to the report, Corfu’s airport was named Europe’s 7th least stressful airport, with a total score of 68 points. The airport serves just under 4 million passengers annually, offers free one-week parking, and is located closest to the city center among all airports on the list.

The Billund airport in Denmark topped the list, followed by the Luxembourg airport and Lithuania’s Vilnius international airport. The Menorca airport in Spain and Germany’s Hannover airport rounded out the top 5.

On the other hand, the report also included a list of Europe’s most stressful airports.

France’s Charles de Gaulle airport is most stressful

Charles de Gaulle airport in the French capital was named the “most stressful airport” for holidaymakers to fly from, with over 57 million passengers passing through annually.

The Paris airport is over 40 kilometers away from the city center, making it tricky for tourists to travel to easily, and it boasts relatively few restaurants for its size.

London Heathrow came in as the second most stressful airport, with the worst record for delays among Europe’s busiest airports.

Ranking third for most stressful was Gatwick Airport. At 45.7 kilometers, it is the furthest away from its nearest city, meaning that passengers often arrive tired even before they check in.
