The Greek Tourism Ministry aims to strengthen tourist flows from France, with promotional actions ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games to take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11.

In this direction, Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni had the chance to meet with French sector professionals during her visit to Paris this month and discuss ways to further boost tourist flows between the two countries ahead of the Olympics.

Additionally, the minister met with local tour operators and agents and discussed the promotion of new destinations to the French market, which has traditionally been a source market for Greece. Last year, tourist arrivals from France to Greece were are up by 23 percent compared to the record-breaking year 2019.

“It is a priority to establish Greece as a pioneering sustainable tourist destination and we are working towards the transformation of our tourism product into a global standard for sustainable tourism development with a balanced distribution of resources and the rational development of destinations,” said Kefalogianni.

During her two-day Paris visit, Kefalogianni also met with Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) representatives with whom she discussed marketing actions and gave interviews to local media, including Le Figaro and L’echo Touristique.
