The Athens event will offer hosts and jurors the chance to network, visit local landmarks and attend a special gala event. “Film industry development is a strategic goal for the City of Athens. The Athens Film Office, established in April 2020, has put Athens on the international map by serving dozens of foreign producers, has created new jobs, but also multiple benefits for the city’s businesses. Continuing the initiatives for the further promotion of Athens, we are very happy to be organizing the Emmy Award semi-final rounds in September,” said Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis. The Athens Emmy Award semi-final events are one more step towards establishing the capital in the global film and creatives industry while acknowledging Athens’ growing dynamic as an events host city, the municipality said.
