Two Greek beaches located on Milos and in Halkidiki are on Europe’s 15 Most Beautiful Beaches for 2023 list, compiled by the European Best Destinations (EBD) travel website. Created in 2009 and among the most visited websites dedicated to tourism in Europe, EBD promotes culture and tourism in Europe in partnership with travel agencies, travel guides and through thematic travel rankings based on travelers’ votes. According to this year’s Europe’s 15 Most Beautiful Beaches list, Sykia beach on Milos is the 11th best in Europe and Kriaritsi beach on Halkidiki is the 12th. Kriaritsi beach on Halkidiki. EBD editors call Sykia “a secret cocoon beach” formed in the heart of a sea cave mostly accessible by boat, and Kriaritsi an ideal beach for “nature lovers, free spirits and people who love simplicity.” Torrente de Pareis beach on Mallorca claimed the top spot on the list followed by Bordeira Beach on Algarve and Amio Beach on Pechon, Spain. La Pelosa beach on Sardinia and As Catedrais beach on Galicia, Spain rounded up the top 5. Earlier this year EBD named Athens, Rhodes and Milos three of the top European destinations to visit in 2023.
